STOP FAKE DISPENSARIES

We’re a Missouri–based coalition of parents, public-health advocates, licensed cannabis professionals, neighborhood leaders, and small-business owners working to end the sale of unregulated, hemp-derived intoxicants across Missouri.

Our goal is simple: keep intoxicating products safe, tested, age-restricted, and accountable. That means keeping them out of gas stations, convenience stores, and online carts that don’t follow the rules.

Why We Exist

Missouri voters approved a regulated cannabis system built on consumer safety and community benefit. Unregulated hemp-derived intoxicants (delta-8, delta-10, THCa, HHC, THC-P, and more) undermine that promise.

They’re often sold without age checks, child-resistant packaging, verified lab tests, or recall protections. The result is confusion for families, unfair competition for licensed businesses, and a pipeline of untaxed, untested products into our neighborhoods.

We believe Missouri deserves clarity and safety:

  • If it intoxicates, it belongs in the licensed marketplace—tested, tracked, labeled, and 21+.

  • If a seller can’t show a Missouri state license, they shouldn’t be selling intoxicating cannabinoids. Period.

Our Mission

Protect public health, protect kids, and protect Kansas City’s legal, responsible cannabis economy by closing the loopholes that allow unregulated hemp-derived intoxicants to be made and sold outside Missouri’s safety framework.

What We Do

Educate: We create plain-English resources for parents, consumers, retailers, and policymakers explaining:

  • The difference between licensed cannabis and unregulated hemp-derived intoxicants

  • Packaging, age-restriction, and testing standards

  • How to verify a shop or product (license, batch/lot, QR-linked lab results)

Mobilize: We run a city-level advocacy and educational campaign to:

  • Encourage shop-licensed behavior

  • Promote “Ask to see the license” at point of sale

  • Rally residents to support local ordinances and state reforms that keep intoxicants inside the regulated system

Support Enforcement & Reporting:

  • We maintain easy reporting pathways for suspected illegal sales and coordinate with community partners to ensure complaints reach the right authorities. We also help retailers understand compliance so good actors stay on the right side of the law.

Advocate for Policy That Works: We champion clear rules that:

  • Keep intoxicating cannabinoids in the licensed channel

  • Require independent lab testing and batch traceability

  • Mandate child-resistant packaging and youth-neutral branding

  • Ensure strong, fair penalties for repeat violators

Our Values

Safety First: Intoxicating products should be tested for potency and contaminants (heavy metals, pesticides, mold/mycotoxins, residual solvents) and sold with accurate labels, standardized warnings, and verifiable Certificates of Analysis.

Protect Kids: No candy-look-alike packaging. No cartoon branding. No sales without ID checks. Full stop.

Fair Competition: Licensed dispensaries, cultivators, manufacturers, labs, and transporters invest in compliance and local jobs. We stand with businesses that play by the rules.

Community Accountability: Legal sales fund local priorities like veterans’ services, treatment and prevention grants, public defense, and city programs like violence prevention and neighborhood services. Unregulated sales siphon those dollars away.

Clarity Over Confusion: Consumers deserve simple steps to shop safely and legally. Retailers deserve rules that are easy to understand and enforce.

Why This Matters for Kansas City & Missouri

Public Health: Unregulated products can be mislabeled or contaminated - and there’s no reliable recall process when something goes wrong.

Youth Prevention: Fake dispensary, convenience-store, and online sales of black market cannabis products without age gates and ID checks increase risk for teens.

Local Jobs: Every black market sale undercuts Missouri growers, manufacturers, labs, transporters, and licensed retailers, shrinking the number of quality jobs across the region.

Public Funds: When sellers skip licensing and taxes, communities lose funding earmarked for veterans’ care, treatment and prevention, legal aid, and city services.

Our Committment

We will keep pushing for a Kansas City and Missouri where intoxicating cannabinoids are sold safely, transparently, and only to adults through licensed channels. We will amplify the voices of families, workers, and small businesses who want a healthy, honest marketplace. We will celebrate compliant retailers and brands, support clear policy, and help shut down the loopholes that put kids and consumers at risk.

Stop Illegal Weed KC exists to make the safest choice the easiest choice: licensed, tested, 21+. If you share that vision, you’re already part of the coalition.
